Here are some trends for Fall/Winter 2006-07.

THEMES

Vintage – worn and over-washed, retro

Military/Utilitarian cargo pants

Rock/Punk rock look – t-shirt skinny jeans, leather jackets

Modernism Or Minimalism -- clean approach to fabrics, shapes, proportions and functionality. Back to basics colors and classic designs.

FABRICS

Cotton trend continues strong with all the “high tech” features such as wrinkle free, “Tough Cotton” - stronger, but with a soft feel, "Storm Denim" – with protection against wetness, and stains.

Washable wool

Stretch

Anti microbial fibers – especially in shirts, underwear, socks and active wear

Moisture management – Invista’s Coolmax fabrics.

Corduroy made of silk, cashmere, and of course microfiber

COLOR

Dark browns, neutral, burgundy and mauve, blood reds, oranges and last season’s white takes us this season to of course – black!

PRINTS/PATTERNS

Camouflage, Herringbones, pin stripes tweeds and plaids

DENIM

Slimmer jeans, deconstructed and with washed finishes.

DOUBLE BREASTED SUITS featuring:

Ticket pockets
High gorge
Natural shoulder
6 x 2 buttons
Floor level peak lapels

NECKWEAR

Camouflage - matching ties and shirts!
Vintage – medallions, florals, paisleys
Skinny
Solid color
Prints

TROUSERS for fall will be a combination of Savile Row fabrics and American shapes.

British country classics (district and shepherd checks, Donegal and herringbone tweeds, and plaid in rustic country colors including rusts olives, warm browns.

But the styling is American – shorter rise and leaner legs, and flat fronts with slightly flared legs

Plush fabrics moleskins, washed, cords, velvet

Lighter fabrics

Wider belt loops

Flaps side tab, suede trims and pocket

Waistbands are featured worn the waist.

ACCESSORIES

Dressed up accessories – exotic leather belts, cufflinks,

Hats! Many designers are introducing hats into their lines. Hats sales are up and for Fall and luxury is the word for hat fabrics.

Burgundy is the leather color for belts, shoes, and wallets

FORMAL

Goes along with the Black color scheme, but designers still can’t keep from messing with it.

RL even has a Western theme Tuxedo!!!

TOPCOATS

Tailored, constructed shoulder and narrow lapel.

THICK KNITS

Close fitting, yet chunky is the look for sweaters.

Be conscious of the fact that women notice what you wear. Dress to create a curious interest and an admiring stare.
